Movistar announced that it will broadcast exclusively through its streaming service Movistar Play all the matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia for its postpaid and prepaid customers. The telecommunications company is the only one in Guatemala that owns the rights to show the event on mobile devices.

In addition, they can enjoy a wide selection of content and excellent programming, with the additional advantage of having the best LTE in the market,” said Luis Benatuil, Country Director of Telefónica Guatemala.
Movistar Play was launched in early 2016 in Guatemala. The service offers free access to a wide library of movies, series, children’s content and live channels. In addition, it includes a transactional option to rent premieres. To access the service, customers must send the word “Play” to number 700 via SMS.
