The Movistar Play app, the streaming service of the Telefónica operator, changed its name within the Android TV platform, where it is now called Movistar TV. For now, the transformation was only visible in the logo, as the design and tools still remain the same.
The Movistar TV app has a simplified interface, which allows the user to advance and rewind the content in a much easier way, from the playlist. In addition, the Add-ON format for premium packages was implemented, with which customers can “rent” movies and series for an additional value that will appear directly on their Movistar invoice.
Lately, Movistar’s streaming service expanded its content offering by integrating some of the most important OTTs to its platform. Recently, the entire Amazon Prime TV catalogue was added to the app in Spain, where it already had Netflix and YouTube, as well as in Latin America.
