Movistar launches ‘Ruido Capital’, its first Colombian original series

Movistar premiered this Thursday ‘Ruido Capital’, its first original series made in Colombia. The series is now available and on demand to be accessed exclusively on Movistar Play.

It is a six-episode coming age comedy about adolescence, music and friendship, set in Bogotá during the 90s and starred by Simon Cuervo and Valentina Leon, both 13 years old. They, together with ‘Los Rotos’, search through music to walk their own path in adolescence. ‘Ruido Capital’ is a story created by Mauricio Leiva-Cock, showrunner of the series and co-founder of the Fidelio Films production company, based in Bogota, Mexico City, Toronto and Zurich. The direction of the project was in charge of filmmakers Ana Katz and Pablo Stoll, from Argentina and Uruguay, respectively.

‘We are very proud to launch ‘Ruido Capital’, our first original production. We believe and bet on entertainment, and much more now, taking the situation we are facing into consideration’, said Luis German Peña, Marketing Director at Movistar Colombia. ‘We invite all Latin Americans to enjoy Movistar Play’, added the executive. As officially reported by Movistar, the series was filmed during July and August 2019 and is available to Movistar customers in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay through Movistar Play. In addition, and due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, ‘Ruido Capital’ had an online avant premiere, which took place last Wednesday through the official YouTube channel of Movistar Colombia.

In 2019, Telefónica announced a series production plan in Latin America. ‘Ruido Capital’ is the third original production that the company launches in the region, after ‘Un dia eres joven’ and ‘El dia de mi suerte’, two original series produced in Peru. The plan also includes series productions in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
