As part of the operating and financial results recently announced by Movistar Colombia, the company reported that it has ended 2020 with 1.2 million broadband internet customers, of which 329 thousand have FTTH services with symmetric speeds of up to 500 MB in Bogota and 300 MB in the rest of the country. In addition, the company reported that its IPTV client base made a 134.9% growth, up to 187 thousand clients.

Movistar ended the year with a total of 19.4 million clients in Colombia, of which 16.3 million belong to the mobile client base, and 3.1 million to the company’s fixed services. Prepaid customers, however, made a 0.6% drop.

‘The results achieved in 2020 show the measures adopted by the company to mitigate Covid-19 impacts, but also the commitment of a team that worked to keep millions of Colombians connected throughout the country and even bring the benefits of said connectivity to more people’, reported Fabian Hernandez, President & CEO at Movistar Colombia.

Regarding Movistar Colombia’s FTTH offers, the company announced in early March the launch of a new plan with symmetric speeds of up to 50 MB in Bogota.
