Telefonica and Mediapro agreed to develop the Movistar Esports Ubeat channel together in Latin America, focused on promoting electronic sports, which is already available at the OTT Movistar Play. Initially, the proposal is available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
Movistar eSports Ubeat will have more than ten original formats focused on electronic sports. Some of them will be Global Enews, Multiplayer and Games Tribune, as well as the Movistar Latin America League of Legends (LoL) and video game competitions such as Fortnite, Clash Royale and Call of Duty. The channel will be distributed in Movistar’s basic packages in Latin America, both through Movistar Play as well as mobile and broadband ones. In addition, the company reported that Movistar Esports Ubeat will also be available in its pay TV offer.

On the other hand, Mari Carmen Fernández Tallon, Mediapro Group’s Innovation Director , said that Movistar Esports Ubeat ‘will be a success and a reference for all eSports and entertainment fans’ and that, with the agreement, ‘we added the Mediapro experience in this field and the wide reachment that Movistar can offer in Latin America’.
Anibal Mauricio Vasquez Murcia, Telefonica Colombia’s TV and Video Manager, will be one of the speakers taking part of the next edition of Nextv Series Colombia. The event will take place next June 27th at the JW Marriott Hotel, in Bogota, and will be organized by Dataxis.
