Millennials prefer OTT services in Mexico

According to data from the Tercera Encuesta 2017 de Usuarios de Servicios de Telecomunicaciones, carried out by Mexican regulator IFT, OTT consumption prevails among users aged 18-34. Behind this group is the people aged 35-55 and then people over 56 years.
The study reveals that 24.6% of participants between 18-34 subscribe to an OTT platform. Regardless of the age group, Netflix is the most subscribed streaming service, followed by Claro Video (América Móvil) and Blim (Televisa). Among people aged 18-34, about 72% subscribed to Netflix and 26% to Claro VIdeo.
Movies and series are the most viewed content. The main hours of use among millennials, as well as those aged 35-55, is from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am. Users aged 56 years and over mentioned using this service mainly from 12:01 pm to 6:00 pm.
