Mexican operator Megacable announced its Q318 results. The video segment grew by 7.1% (210,000 net additions) compared to the same period last year, and reached 3.2 million subscribers. Xview, the next generation multiscreen service, reached 395,000 subscribers, up 18.8% from previous quarter.
According to the company, Xview had a “positive performance, both in terms of usage levels as well as customer satisfaction”. Megacable also reported that, at the end of Q318, 82% of total subscriber base was digital, through over 4.9 million set up boxes.
In turn, the internet segment posted 380,000 net adds or 15.1% growth, to reach 2.89 million subscribers in 3Q18. The operator ended the period with 1.73 million telephony subscribers, up 25.7% from previous year, “mainly as a result of a successful bundling strategy”.
Total Q318 revenues reached MX$ 4,851 million (USD 248.5 million), an 11.5% increase compared to 3Q17. During the quarter, revenues for the massive market grew by 12.5%, mainly as a result of greater Internet and Video and the rate adjustment that took place in July. At the end of Q318, the video segment reported revenues of MX$ 2,040 million (USD 104.5 million), Internet reached MXS 1,530 million (USD 78.4 million) and telephony MXS 431,346 million (USD 22 million).
