Mexican MSO Megacable announced the launch of ‘13 minutos antes de dormir’, its first original suspense and horror production, whose first chapter is scheduled for this Saturday, August 3rd, and can be watched on channels Panico, Cine Mexicano and its OTT platform, Xview.
The serie’s main character is called Javier, a boy who has just moved to an old house with his mother. Every night, just 13 minutes before falling asleep, he begins to experience visions that, apparently, are related to Mexican horror legends. It will be a 13-episode series of 22 minutes each, and its plot is inspired by some of the most relevant Mexican horror legends, adapted to current situations. Some of the Mexican locations where the story will take place are Durango, Jalisco, Puebla, Coahuila, the Mexican State, Guanajuato, Veracruz, Michoacan, Chiapas, Sonora, Sinaloa, Queretaro and Mexico City.
‘This series is a strategic commitment to allocate production resources to original high quality and strong local identity content, specially designed for Xview. This project is also an impulse for the industry development inside the Mexican Republic, since it was in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where scriptwriters, technical staff and actors were summoned, all of them film and TV industry’s professionals’, said Jorge Alejandro Tanaka, Content Generation Director at Megacable, and added that ‘the series production design, cast selection, clothing, film resources, sound design and psychedelic rock integration into the original music are extremely careful elements, aimed to create an own voice for the series and, that way, a memorable experience in the content’s watchers’.
From the first August Saturday, Xview subscribers will be able to have three episodes of the series available on their mobile devices and TVs and, after that period, they will have one premiere per week. The series will be simultaneously broadcast on the Panico and Cinema Mexicano TV channels, both owned by PCTV, with a weekly episode every Saturday, both in Megacable and the 325 cable operators affiliated to PCTV throughout the country.
