Mediapro expands Pan American Games borders with YouTube

The Spanish company Mediapro announced it came to terms with YouTube to broadcast the Lima 2019 Pan American Games live and for the first time on the video platform, not including Turkey and the American continent. The companies did not give details on the agreement’s economic terms, which was possible thanks to the Peruvian Olympic Committee.

First statistics of the experience shows that Pan American Games contents recorded more than 200 thousand impressions and 400 thousand viewing minutes since the event began. ‘Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia were the countries with more visualizations’, Mediapro explained.

Mediapro’s YouTube channel is making the competition available in more than 150 countries globally, with 24 hours broadcasting. Until August 11th, the company will offer the most outstanding events from the largest multidisciplinary sports competition, in which more than six thousand American athletes are taking part of it, and where 39 sports and 62 disciplines are developed. Apart from this agreement, Mediapro is also responsible for broadcasting all Pan American Games competitions, with nearly a thousand hours live coverage, distributed to 33 TV operators in 41 countries. The Spanish company is also broadcasting the event’s opening and closing ceremonies in 4K.
