Chinese tech giant Huawei launched the Huawei Video platform for exclusive brand devices in Colombia, Chile and Mexico. The OTT is already available in China since 2017, and a year later it was launched in several countries in Europe.
With the launch of the platform in Latin America, Huawei Video launches free content such as DailyMotion, Toon Goggles and BBC News. In addition, it offers a free month of Filmbox content, seven free days of gigs in Qello and 14 free days for The Explorers. The app is available on Huawei and Honor devices, and can be downloaded through the Huawei App Gallery. To access the OTT offer, subscribers are required to have an active Huawei ID account on their branded devices.
Huawei Video supports a free subscription, which allows its clients to watch trailers and selected videos, with advertising from Huawei. A second model supports a monthly subscription, which allows accessing to series and movies from selected producers and distributors. In addition, the platform allows content to be rented, be it movies or series, for up to 48 hours and at a preferential price for subscribed users.
