Hisense presents in Mexico its 4K World Cup app

Chinese manufacturer Hisense announced a range of new products for the Mexican market, including the app to watch the soccer World Cup in 4K, through an alliance with Televisa Deportes. With these new initiatives, the company expects a 40% increase in sales this year, local newspaper Expansión reported.
Hisense offers 43-inch 4K TVs in the Mexican market at a price of MX$ 8,499 (USD 440) but also has 75-inch screens for MX$ 70,000 (USD 3,600). Iván Medina, deputy director of consumer product, told Expansión that they are projecting a 40% increase in TV sales this year due to the Soccer World Cup in Russia.
In turn, Hisense CEO in Mexico, David Gold, told Notimex that they closed the third month of 2018 with a market share of 11.2%, and in the 4K devices segment the company reached 14.2%. The goal is to reach the second place in market share in Mexico this year thanks to the sponsorship of the World Cup. Hisense closed 2017 in third place.
The agreement with Televisa includes the broadcast of 30 matches live in 4K. The company’s TV sets also have preloaded applications of OTT services such as Claro Video, Netflix, Cinépolis Klic and YouTube.
