In 2020 new original productions will arrive at HBO. Among Latin Americans, the fifth season of Chumel con Chumel Torres stands out, and Entre Hombres, held in Argentina, Todxs Nosotrxs, the new Brazilian original series that addresses issues based on the LGBTQIA+ universe and the Colombian series Mil Colmillos, among other planned premieres will be released. The company also reported news on digital innovation and the rebranding of MAX channels, which will take place in the first quarter of the year.
MAX channels will migrate to the HBO brand, bringing new packages designed for various subscriber profiles and interests. The MAX Prime channel will be HBO Xtreme, a channel dedicated to titles with a focus on action and adrenaline. MAX UP will become HBO POP, with productions dedicated to the world of fantasy, comedies and romances. MAX will be HBO Mundi and will bring viewers the best of independent and international content from around the world.
Apart from all the already mentioned productions -and others that will also be part of the HBO programming-, which will be available on subscription channels and on HBO GO, exclusive material on the main contents of HBO will also be shown on HBO Extras, The application that offers immersive information for subscribers in real time: backstage curiosities, actors and the most memorable scenes. Another issue is the application of the experience of fans in the digital world with the launch of HBO Podcasts, a series of exclusive podcasts dedicated to the main contents, in which each episode of the series is analyzed in detail, immediately after its premiere. Currently, it is now possible to listen to the Watchmen and His Dark Materials podcasts, both already available on HBO GO, the hbolatam.com site and on any platform where podcasts are heard.
‘2020 will be a great premieres year, but it will also be a year in which we will focus even more on subscriber experiences with the brand, especially in the digital environment’, says Gustavo Grossmann, Corporate Vice President of Networks at HBO Latin America, highlighting recent releases as a series of exclusive podcasts on the main fictions and the HBO Extras application. ‘Whether through our new original productions, exclusive documentaries or blockbuster films, our focus is, and always will be, to have a diverse and high quality catalog, with a close relationship with our audience’, says Grossmann.
