HBO Max to be available for DirecTV, Sky Brazil and Oi subscribers from its launch date in Latin America

WarnerMedia (AT&T) has officially announced this Monday, March 29th, that HBO Max, the new SVOD OTT that the company will launch in Latin America at the end of June, will be available from its launch date forDirecTV Latin America (AT&T), Sky Brazil (AT&T) and Oi (Oi Group) subscribers. As reported from the company, other partners are expected to join in the future.

The launch of HBO Max in Latin America will be the first in which the SVOD OTT will be available outside the US, where it was launched at the end of May last year. According to the information reported by WarnerMedia, on the day of its launch (which has not been confirmed yet), DirecTV Latin America, Sky Brazil and Oi subscribers with an active HBO Max subscription will be able to access the entire HBO Max catalog automatically and for free. Those who are subscribed to HBO must authenticate their access to HBO Max with any of the pay TV operators already mentioned. In addition, there will be special offers with DirecTV GO, and Oi, and offers for Oi’s broadband customers.

‘Now that HBO Max is coming to Latin America, this distribution agreement shows how we are making the platform available for consumers everywhere’, reported  Luis Duran, General Manager at HBO Max in Latin America. ‘HBO Max is a platform for everyone, and that is why we celebrate giving consumers the flexibility to enjoy the platform in the way and where they want’, added the executive.

According to Melissa Arnoldi, CEO at Vrio (AT&T unit that controls DirecTV’s operations in Latin America and Sky’s in Brazil), ‘HBO Max fulfills its commitment to offer the best entertainment and fun for its DirecTV Latin America and Sky Brazil’s subscribers’. Later, the executive added that they are happy that the company’s more than 10 million subscribers in the region will be able to access the platform’s content.

‘Oi is delighted to provide its users with access to HBO Max, starting with its launch in June’, reported Roberto Guenzburger, Marketing Director Consumer & SMB at Oi. ‘We are always looking to partner with companies that improve our content offering, trying to provide the best entertainment experience for consumers. We appreciate that HBO Max offers fans of all ages new ways to access a unique variety of content’, he concluded.
