HBO Max would arrive at Latin America in 2021

During an event held yesterday in the US, WarnerMedia reported all its HBO Max OTT details, including its price, content, original productions and international plans for the platform, which will finally be launched in May 2020 in the US, and would arrive at Europe and Latin America in 2021, according to several specialized websites.

It was also reported that HBO Max monthly subscription will be valued at USD 14.99, and that current AT&T customers subscribed to HBO in the US will be able to access WarnerMedia’s catalog for free, for a one-year period. Apart from that, the platform may be launched with an AVOD option, but, if so,  it would be specified later.

In Latin America and Europe, WarnerMedia will be launched in 2021, with original content. Recently, the platform acquired the minority stake that Ole Communications owned in HBO Ole Partners, a joint venture between WarnerMedia and Ole Communications. This will allow the company to offer original HBO content in the region.

Other announcements made during the event informed that HBO Max will offer10 thousand hours of content, which will include all HBO programming and series and films from the Warner Bros., New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network catalog. Some of the new contents that are added to previously announced are will be a new Game of Thrones spinoff, two new DC projects (an adaptation of Strange Adventures and a series on Green Lantern), a new animated series of Looney Tunes Cartoons, and others . Agreements for acquisitions were also reported, such as South Park and Rick & Morty, in addition to Friends, The Big Bang Theory, The West Wing, Pretty Little Liars, and others.
