Google Play is updated on Android TV and makes access to content easier

As part of a Google Play’s upgrade on Android TV, the company said it is close to make it easier to Android TV users to register to subscription content. According to the specialized magazine Variety, customers can combine steps that include registration, downloading apps and login with credentials, and allow the use of a four-digit PIN to make purchases.

Android TV will also have Google Assistant, which, although it is an already available feature, it will soon enable the possibility  to make voice searches when broadcasting live TV content. Google also reported that, currently, more than 140 pay TV operators worldwide are using the Android TV platform, which has more than 1,000 providers of streaming content and more than 5,000 applications.

The latest Android TV updates come as the number of operators and pay TV providers that use the platform to launch products and services increases. Currently, AT & T is building a STB for DirecTV with Android TV. In 2018, suppliers such as TiVo, Espial and Vewd launched services with the platform.
