Globosat (Grupo Globo) had for the first time four of its TV channels into the most watched on Brazilian pay TV during 2019 during prime time. The most watched channels were SporTV, Viva, Discovery, Multishow and Megapix. Except from Discovery, the remaining four channels belong to Globosat.
The time range considered for the audience data collection was from 7 PM to 1 AM, and data was collected between January 1st and December 5th this year, according to what was reported by Patricia Kogut (Grupo Globo).
Currently, Globosat has 57 channels, with 13 on demand and three that can be accessed outside Brazil. From January 2020, according to Globo announcement made in early November by Jorge Nóbrega, the company’s Executive Director, TV Globo, Globosat, Som Livre, Globo.com and DGCorp will join themselves under a single company, which will be named ‘Globo’.
