At the end of April, Erick Bretas, Director of Digital Products at Grupo Globo, announced some of the short-term projects for Globoplay. According to the executive, Globo now features 102 projects in development and production to be premiered on Globoplay, of which 75 will make their debut on the platform between 2021 and 2022. In addition, of the 75 original productions already mentioned, 47 will be made with Brazilian production companies, of which 25 will be based on fiction content, and the remaining 22 will be based on unscripted programs. Similarly, the remaining 28 titles, which will be released beyond 2022, are in charge of Globo Studios, and include 13 series and soap operas, and 15 unscripted shows. On the other hand, although Bretas chose not to detail Globoplay figures, he pointed out that Globo forecasts a 25%-35% growth for the platform during 2021.
