Globo inaugurates new content production studios in Rio de Janeiro

This Thursday, Brazilian Globo Group opened its new production studios in Rio de Janeiro. Named ‘Recording Module 4’ (MG4), it is a Globo Studios expansion, with 26 thousand square meters added. The new module has three new studios and production and storage areas, with the latest technology available. The company’s total investment for the project was greater than USD  200 million.

MG4 will produce series and soap operas for TV Globo. The first one is entitled ‘Amor de mãe’, created by Manuela Dias, which will start to be filmed in October. In addition, according to what the company officially reported, the three new studios are enabled to produce 4K and 4K HDR formats.

Globo also informed that its new studios, inaugurated as part of a five-years project, increases its capacity to produce novels, series, mini series, realities, original formats and humorous and magazines programs. The company also reported that, at present, it has a 300 average entertainment content production  hours per year. With these openings, Globo owns 13 production studios.
