Funimation to be available in Brazil and Mexico in December

As reported by several specialized websites, the OTT Funimation, focused on anime content, will be available in Mexico and Brazil from December, thus making its official arrival at Latin America, as it was previously reported. The platform will compete with other OTTs, such as Crunchyroll and Anime Onegai, also about to launch in the region, and others.

Funimation’s catalog will be made up of around 200 series, in addition to anime films. The platform will offer subtitles in both Spanish and Portuguese, and even some of the available titles will be dubbed. In addition, according to the specialized website PlayerOne, initially, Funimation will be available only under its web version and, by 2021, it also plans to be also available as apps for mobile devices and devices compatible with smart TVs.

Funimation had announced its expansion plans to Mexico and Brazil during the FunimationCon 2020 virtual event, which took place on July 3rd and 4th, Apart from Mexico and Brazil, the OTT already operates in other countries such as the US, Canada, the  UK and Ireland. Earlier this year, the platform announced that it has ceased its operations in Australia and New Zealand.
