Free platform VIX Filmes e TV reaches three million users per month in Brazil

The free streaming platform VIX Filmes e TV reached three million monthly users in Brazil, in just over a year. After its launch in August 2020, the service that offers more than 5,000 hours of content in Portuguese without cost or registration, reached 250,000 daily surfers with an average connection time of 32 minutes.

By October 2019, the app was already working in the United States and some Latin American countries. It was not until the beginning of the pandemic that the consumption of the service began to grow enormously in the regions where it was already enabled, so the company decided that it was the best time to bet on an expansion and advance its launch in Brazil.

Currently, the platform is in the top 10 of the most downloaded free entertainment apps for Android in Brazil; as well as its Spanish version, which is in the Latin America ranking and leads the Hispanic audience in the United States through the Roku device.

Regarding the rapid growth of the service, Enor Paiano, country manager of VIX Filmes e TV in Brazil, told the Brazilian news portal Telaviva: “We had a very positive surprise in terms of audience growth, it’s not that we did not believe in Brazil as a promising market, but we couldn’t invest in marketing and user acquisition”. “People were discovering the platform, sharing it and our base grew” he added.
