Fox Premium and Fox+ to stop operating on Google Play and iTunes Store in Mexico

In a message to its customers through its website, Fox reported that Fox Premium and Fox + subscriptions through Google Play and iTunes Store will no longer be available in Mexico starting next November 11th. The measure will take place a day before the launch of Disney+ in the US. So far, Claro Video, Dish Mexico and MediaKey have not expressed themselves about this measure.

‘As of November 11th, 2019, Fox+ and Fox Premium subscriptions made from Google Play and iTunes will no longer be renewed in Mexico, because they will no longer be available for direct subscription’, the company reported, and informed that access to the content must be done through a pay TV operator and TV Everywhere platforms.

The company also reported that subscription will be automatically cancelled, with no additional charges to clients. After their last billing, before November 11th, 2019, they are able to access the content for a month. Fox had launched the direct to consumer option in 2017, and allowed access to all Fox app contents without a pay TV subscription.

Apart from that, from next December 5th, Fox Sports App will also not be available in the region. From the company, they are inviting their clients to access all contents through the ESPN app.
