In the OTT Facebook Watch Libertadores Cup broadcastings debut, social network received several complaints about the poor quality of the images. Football match between the Argentine team Huracán and the Brazilian Cruzeiro was the first to be broadcast under this modality.
Watchers main complaints were focused on contents poor quality and the constant interruptions during the match. Other ones pointed that, sometimes, football match was in slow motion or there were so many delay in the images reception.
In Uruguay, match between Quito’s League and Peñarol in Ecuador was also criticized. Main ones focused on the teller comments, which were out of date with the images, the interruptions to promote surveys, broadcasting pauses and images low quality.
From this year, and until 2022, all Libertadores Cup matches played on Thursdays (27 in total) will be streamed on Facebook, and another 19 will be available simultaneously by both Facebook Watch and Fox Sports. River and Boca will have a match each in the competition’s Group stage, which will only be watched through Facebook. River one will be on April 11h against Alianza Lima locally, and Boca’s will take place on May 9th facing Atlético Paranaense in its stadium.
