ESPN signs deal with UOL in Brazil

ESPN announced an agreement with UOL for the distribution of ESPN Play service in the recently-launched Esporte Clube platform. This partnership is in line with the network’s strategy of expanding the distribution of its contents to multiple platforms.
In UOL Esporte Clube site, users can subscribe to monthly or annual plans according to the product or plan, ESPN said in a statement. ESPN Play offers sports such as European soccer (Premier League), the NFL, the NBA, the baseball league (MBL) and tennis, as well as VOD content and news shows.
“With this alliance, we join one of the main communication groups in Brazil and expand the distribution possibilities of ESPN’s extensive and varied content portfolio,” said Marcello Zeni, Affiliates Vice President at Disney and ESPN.
ESPN Play is the product offered to fixed broadband providers in Brazil. It was launched in May last year and in addition to UOL, already has several associated operators. The service is available through the TV Everywhere platform WatchESPN, in the website and iOS and Android apps.
