Telecommunications company Entel has announced this last Thursday, March 4th, that, from that date on, its clients in Chile are able to hire the OTT Amazon Prime Video, and pay the subscription to the platform in their monthly bill. In addition, Entel clients who subscribe to Prime Video will  access Amazon’s streaming platform for free during the first 60 days.

This way, Prime Video joins other OTTs previously offered by Entel in Chile, such as Netflix, YouTube Premium, Spotify and Google Play. Amazon Prime Video’s subscription is valued at CH$ 4,165 per month (USD 5.6; VAT included). In turn, as reported from the Entel Chile website, the subscription to Prime Video also includes access to Prime Gaming and Twitch, with no need to make an additional payment. Some of the original Chilean and Latin American productions that are part of the Prime Video catalog are ‘El Presidente’; ‘Dignidad’ and ‘La Jauria’.

As reported by Entel Chile on this initiative, the telecommunications company aims to ‘democratize access to streaming platforms, because this is a real option for customers who do not have credit cards available, or for those who prefer to pay their accounts on a single bill and, this way, have all the services ordered in one single place”. 

On the other hand, in September 2020, Entel Chile announced the launch of Entel TV, its new OTT, which can be accessed from smart TVs, tablets and smartphones. In addition, the company announced the launch of its new STB with Android TV. The device, with Chromecast integrated, offers direct access to Entel TV, Netflix, YouTube, Fox, HBO GO and all the apps available in the Google Play Store, and other features.
