During the last D23 Expo 2019, organized by Disney, the company announced that Disney+, its new OTT platform, will be available in Latin America in 2020. In the US and other recently announced countries, the date chosen is next November 12th. In terms of prices, the company has already confirmed that in the US, the OTT monthly subscription will cost USD 6.99, and announced an offer to bundle its OTT with those of ESPN and Hulu for a monthly value of USD 12.99.
The company also confirmed six new series for the platform: three will be from Marvel (Mrs. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk) and one from Star Wars, focused on the Obi-Wan Kenobi character, together with a Lizzie McGuire series and another from The Muppets. In addition, last week Disney published the first trailer for The Mandalorian, which will make its debut at the OTT on November 12th, same day it is scheduled to be launched.
During Disney’s event, the High School Musical: The Musical: The series, Lady and the Tramp, Noelle, The world according to Jeff Goldblum and Encore trailers were also released, together with new titles confirmed to be included on the platform. Some of them are the series Forky asks a question, Diary of a Female President, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Monsters at Work, WandaVision, Loki and Rogue One: A Star Wars story, movies Togo, Timmy Failure and Stargirl and the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars season.
