Brazilian film and series distributor O2 Play, part of the O2 Filmes company, has announced a new partnership agreement with Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s SVOD OTT, already launched in Latin America, to add a package of four titles distributed by O2 Play to the platform. Titles will be available for Brazil and for the rest of the countries in the region.
Titles confirmed as part of the deal include the film ‘Orlamundo’, produced by Audaz Filmes, and based on Brazilian singer-songwriter Orlando Morais; the documentary ‘A Turma do Pererê.doc’, focused on the history of the first Brazilian comic; ‘Paratodos’, which shows the life history and main challenges of Paralympic athletes in the country; and ‘Traço Livre’, based on the sequential artistic universe of Brazilian comics.

With the announcement, Disney continues to strengthen the Disney+ catalog in the region, while preparing the launch of Star+, which will take place on August 31st. Also, and as part of its Q2 2021 results presentation, the company reported that Disney+ ended June with 116 million global subscribers. On the other hand, O2 Play has brought several of its titles to movie theaters in Brazil, and has distributed content on various streaming platforms, both available in Brazil and throughout Latin America, such as Netflix, Paramount+, Telecine Play, Globoplay, YouTube, and others.
