DirecTV announced that it is upgrading its TV Everywhere platform, where it will offer the 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2018, for both its prepaid and postpaid customers, at no additional cost.
The new version of DirecTV Sports App now shows a simpler and more modern design, which allows providing greater interactivity and content personalization. According to the company, contents can now be shared via WhatsApp. The new version of the app is now available for download at App Store and Google Play. In addition, the web version (Directvsports.com) was also updated.
DirecTV Sports App is available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. It offers live matches and replays, exclusive original programming, news and statistics, among other contents.
It can be downloaded by any user; however to watch the live and exclusive content users must be subscribed to DirecTV. The access to the content depends on the subscription plan.
DirecTV Sports will air from Russia all 64 games of the event in HD format and for the first time in 4K Ultra HD, as the operator reported a few weeks ago. The World Cup will be available online for all DirecTV subscribers in the aforementioned countries, regardless of the subscription plan, at no additional cost.
