DirecTV GO relaunches in Argentina as a standalone platform on December 17th

As officially reported this Wednesday from DirecTV, the SVOD OTT DirecTV GO, which has just been launched as a D2C product in Brazil, will start to be marketed in Argentina as a standalone platform from next December 17th. The OTT will offer sports programming from DirecTV, as well as films, series and documentaries, with a launch promotion valued at AR$ 1,290 (USD 16) for six months, with HBO included without an extra cost.

DirecTV GO’s offer includes live content, with linear channels and DirecTV sports programming, as well as on demand content, which can be accessed from cell phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs and streaming devices. The platform also offers the possibility of combining the basic programming package with premium offers, such as HBO, Fox Premium and the Football Pack. At present, the service is also provided for free for all customers of the satellite TV (DTH) offer (prepaid and postpaid).

‘The launch of DirecTV GO in Brazil and Argentina is a strategic milestone in the development and growth of our offering of innovative digital products and services in the region’, said Michael Bowling, President at DirecTV Latin America. ‘It offers consumers the opportunity to access the content they enjoy the most how and when they want to access it, with flexible access across multiple devices, through a provider and without subscriptions. It is a new era in entertainment’, he added.

To access the platform, once the service has been hired at www.directvgo.com, subscribers must download the application on their smart TV, tablet or smartphone from the Apple and / or Android stores. DirecTV GO will allow them to enjoy the programming on two devices at the same time with the same account, including a seven-day trial period.
