Televisa has announced this Tuesday, February 24th, that its SVOD OTT blim tv is already part of the DirecTV GO (AT&T) catalog in Mexico. The initiative, which has been available since February 18th, allows DirecTV GO subscribers to access 35 live TV channels and more than 32 thousand hours of on-demand content, including all Televisa Networks FTA and pay TV channels, as well as a catalog of soap operas, series, movies, sports content, programs and documentaries, all in Spanish, for a MX$ 93.96 (USD 4.6) monthly subscription, plus VAT.
The DirecTV GO catalog combines live TV and on demand content, as well as live sports, although now it will also add the sports content offered by channels such as TUDN, afizzionados and Adrenalina Sports Network (Televisa) through blimTV, with competitions as the Mexican Professional Football League (Liga MX); Female Football World Cup; NFL and NBA matches; extreme sports broadcasts and mixed martial arts, and others.
‘This announcement is in line with our distribution strategy for the most popular and exclusive Spanish-speaking content and, starting today, with DirecTV GO as a very important partner, we will reach more families with a wide premium catalog of series, soap operas, movies and sports content’, reported Vanessa Rosas, COO at blim tv.
From DirecTV Latin America they have also expressed themselves about the partnership through Laura Pereira, Digital Marketing Executive Director Spanish Speaking Latam at the company: ‘Adding blim tv is one more example of what we want to achieve with DirecTV GO: to innovate to provide an ever greater answer to the usage needs of our subscribers. We know that they want to have all the content available in one place, with flexibility and freedom, without the need for facilities or long-term agreements’, said the executive.
Vanessa Rosas, COO at blim tv, is one of the confirmed speakers for the first Nextv Content Latin America virtual event, organized by Dataxis, which will take place on June 15th and 16th.
