Comcast expands international channel offerings

The US’s largest cable operator, Comcast, announced that it has expanded the number of international channels that are available to Xfinity TV customers by including 42 networks, among them Brazil’s Globo and Record TV.
Coupled with the recent addition of Sling International on X1 platform, the new international experience on X1 now includes over 415 networks in more than 20 languages. Customers can use their voice to discover programming relevant to a specific region of the world. For example, “Brazilian Entertainment” is the voice command that take the viewer directly to the channels, shows, movies, music from this country.
“With the demand for multicultural content increasing, we are thrilled to complement our existing array of international programming by adding more channels all thoughtfully curated into an easy way to navigate, discover and enjoy,” said Rebecca Simpson, Executive Director, International Strategy for Comcast Cable.
In addition to the Brazilian networks, the offer includes STAR India PLUS, Zee TV, TV Asia, TV5Monde, TV JAPAN and Willow sports.
X1 customers can access the current international programming that is part of their subscription, or subscribe to additional channels and/or packages of interest.
