The media company Claxson, an entertainment content production and distribution leader for Latin America and Iberia, ran an agreement with Televisa to distribute all its channels catalog in Argentina and Uruguay. In addition to channel sales to cable and satellite operators, the company reported that Claxson will also distribute its new digital platforms and marketing strategy with affiliates.
Claxson will distribute the entire Televisa’s channels catalog, which covers TLNovelas, Canal de las Estrellas, Telehit, Golden, De Película, Bandamax, Tiin, Telehit Urbano, Golden Edge, Unicable, Distrito Comedia and Golden Premier (in this case, it also includes its HD versions).
‘We have an extensive background and experience as high quality content and networks distributors, and our agreement with Televisa Networks reaffirms our leadership in these markets’, said Mariano Varela, Claxson’s President. From Televisa they have also expressed themselves on the agreement. Fernando Muñiz, Televisa Network’s General Director said that ‘our Latin American positioning continues to grow. This agreement makes us very happy, and we are convinced that Claxson is the ideal partner to represent our TV channels in these two countries’.
