Claro works on the launch of a new streaming product through an app in Brazil

Brazilian telecommunications company Claro (America Movil) announced days ago that it is working on a new streaming offer, which will be marketed through an application. The news was reported on August 9th by Ricardo Falcão, TV Director at Claro Brazil, during the Pay TV Forum 2021 event.

The announced news is added to the investments that Claro has been making in Brazil in terms of streaming: last year it launched the Claro Box TV STB, which has already started its Latin American expansion and has been made available for the company’s clients in Colombia; and, days ago, it launched a new product called ‘Top Streaming’, available in Brazil through the company’s OTT, Now.

‘The app is already a reality, and it will be launched during this half of the year. It will be available on connected TVs and, until the end of the year, we will report a series of news related to the application’, the executive reported. In addition, Falcão explained that the app ‘will work in the same way as a STB does, but without the box’, and emphasized that clients ‘will be able to access all the content in which they are interested from any device’. He also reported that the company is working on new strategies to implement on Now.
