Claro Sports acquires rights to broadcast the last step of the Copa Libertadores for the Mexican market

Pay TV channel Claro Sports (America Movil) has officially announced last week that it had acquired the rights to broadcast in Mexico the remaining matches of this edition of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores, starting on its Round of 16’s stage, as of today. According to the information reported, the matches involved will be broadcast on Claro Sports (pay TV), as well as through Marca Claro (YouTube) and the Claro Video platform.

With the news, Claro Sports continues to strengthen its commitment to sports content: in Mexico, the channel announced a new partnership agreement with Fanatiz to bring various competitions to the sports platform, recently launched in that market. In addition, days ago, Claro Sports confirmed that it will broadcast the Tokyo Olympic Games in several Latin American countries, between July 23rd and August 8th.

The Copa Libertadores Round of 16’s matches will be played between today and next Thursday, July 22nd. The teams that will participate in the phase will be Boca Juniors (Argentina); Atletico Mineiro (Brazil); Cerro Porteño (Paraguay); Fluminense (Brazil); São Paulo (Brazil); Racing Club (Argentina); Velez Sarsfield (Argentina); Barcelona (Ecuador); Universidad Catolica (Chile); Palmeiras (Brazil); River Plate (Argentina); Argentinos Juniors (Argentina); Defensa y Justicia (Argentina); Flamengo (Brazil); Olimpia (Paraguay) and Internacional (Brazil).

In addition, in mid-May, the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), the entity in charge of the competition, confirmed that the Final will be played on November 20th at the Centenario Stadium, in Montevideo, Uruguay.
