Claro now offers its new STB in more Brazilian cities

According to several specialized websites in Brazil, the Brazilian telecommunications company Claro (America Móvil) launched Claro Box TV, its new STB, initially available for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in seven new Brazilian cities. With the expansion of the offer, the device is also available from now on in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Campinas, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Porto Alegre and Santos.

According to the information reported on the official Claro Brasil website, the device is being offered with three different plans: the first one is valued at R$ 20 (USD 3.7) per month, and includes Claro Box TV and access to FTA TV channels, and OTTs (Now and Claro Video). The second plan costs R$ 49.90 (USD 9) per month,  and it also features pay TV channels, with content that includes series, movies, sports, children’s content, documentaries, news, and others. Claro also offers a last package, for R$ 119.99 (USD 25) per month, which includes a 240 mbps internet plan. In addition to Now and Claro Video, users can expand the OTT offer with Netflix, HBO, Fox Premium, Starz Play, Paramount+ and Looke, although, for this, they must pay the subscription that belongs to each platform.

Although, on its official website, Claro does not report what pay TV channels are available on the Claro Box TV plan, it informs that there are ‘more than 80’. However, Globo services, such as Globoplay, Telecine Play and Premiere, and also its linear TV channels, are not available in Claro’s new STB, since both companies have not run a commercial agreement so far.
