Cinepolis and Turner to distribute films from Particular Crowd in Latin America

Cinepolis +QUE CINE, brand that belongs to the Mexican Cinepolis, focused on showing films, sporting, cultural, musical and documentary events as an alternative to cinema, and Turner Latin America (WarnerMedia), announced a distribution agreement to exclusively distribute the entire new productions available on Particular Crowd, Turner’s film banner that provides original content through TNT Original, in Latin America.

As officially reported, during 2020, Cinepolis + QUE CINE will release between eight and ten Particular Crowd films in Mexico, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Brazil, where Cinepolis currently operates. ‘The original content is intended for a global audience, with universal topics and popular genres such as comedy, action, drama, horror and suspense’, the companies officially reported.

The first film that makes up the agreement is ‘Escape from Pretoria’ (2020), which will be available in enabled Cinepolis movie theatres from this Friday, July 17th. The film is directed by British director Francis Annan and starred by Daniel Radcliffe and Daniel Webber, based on real events in South Africa during the 1970s and focused on the experience of two South African men, Tim Jenkin and Stephen Lee, noted as ‘terrorists’ and imprisoned in 1978 for working for Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress. Imprisoned in a maximum security prison in Pretoria, they decide to send a clear message to the apartheid regime and escape from the prison.
