This month, the Chilean Football Channel (CDF) added the Female Copa Libertadores to its programming grid, tournament which is taking place this year in Ecuador between October 11th and 27th.
‘Including the Female Copa Libertadores matches with our commitment to go along with Chilean football teams in international cups and to add new content to CDF, as we did with the Copa Sudamericana, the qualifiers to Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup and the Copa America’, said Robert Nicholson, Content Manager at CDF. Teams representing Chile in the competition are Santiago Morning and Colo Colo, who are sharing the contest with teams from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Football teams taking part of the competition that make up Group A are Atletico Hulia (Colombia); Cerro Porteño (Paraguay); Colo Colo (Chile) and Peñarol (Uruguay). Teams in Group B are Ferroviária (Brazil); Deportivo Cuenca (Ecuador); Estudiantes de Caracas (Venezuela) and Mundo Futuro (Bolivia). Group C groups Corinthians (Brazil); America de Cali (Colombia); Libertad-Limpeño (Paraguay); and Nañas (Ecuador); and Group D is made up of Independiente Medellin (Colombia); UAI Urquiza (Argentina); Santiago Morning (Chile) and Municipalidad de Majes (Peru).
Last year, the competition was held in Brazil and had Atletico Huila (Colombia) as winner, which won its first title in this tournament.
