In the last eight months, the Honduran company Cable Color has invested USD 2 million in strengthening its FTTH networks. In addition, it consolidated its regional operation, which includes Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama and El Salvador. Cable Color’s offer in El Salvador will include cable TV, digital TV, HD TV, internet, fixed telephony, IP voice and corporate services.

‘We arrived at El Salvador in 2015, acquiring a company that was already in operation (Enlace Visión S.A. de C.V). From that moment on, we began to invest and develop our fiber optic network, to offer the greatest coverage. We started in the corporate sector, where we have positioned ourselves very well and, from last year, it was when the Electricity and Telecommunications General Superintendence (SIGET) enabled us to be cable TV operators’, said Gerardo Ordoñez, General Manager at Cable Color, and added that, at the same time, they have developed their own fiber optic network, aimed at serving the residential sector.

The executive said that, since Cable Color began operating in El Salvador, they have made significant investments there, but in the last eight months they have focused their FTTH networks development, a project that demanded a USD 2 million inversion. Cable Color operations in El Salvador begins with coverage in San Salvador. Ordoñez explained that, on a first step, the company will have coverage in Colonia Escalon and the Santa Tecla municipality. Cable Color’s development plan is that, by 2020, they can cover most of the metropolitan area of the Salvadoran capital. ‘After that, we are allowed to extend our operations to La Libertad and San Miguel’, the executive explained.
