Brisanet plans to launch new Android TV STB in Brazil

Brazilian telecommunications company Brisanet is working on the launch of a new STB with Google’s Android TV operating system, which will be called ‘Brisabox TV’. The information has been reported on the specialized website Android TV Guide. Up to now, from Brisanet they have not expressed themselves on the launch of the new product.

With the news, Brisanet joins other Brazilian companies that are launching Android TV devices. Always according to Android TV Guide, other telecommunications companies that are also launching Android TV devices in the country include Algar Telecom; Claro, who has recently launched its new Claro Box TV in Brazil and later made it available to the company’s clients in Colombia; Oi (Smart Box and Streaming Box) and Sky (Sky Connect).

Some of the features included on the new device are the Google Assistant and Chromecast integrated. The company in charge of manufacturing the new Brisabox TV is FiberHome. The launch of Brisabox TV joins the company’s FTTH network, as well as its internet, mobile and fixed telephony offerings. Regarding OTT, the company has already launched Brisaplay, whose catalog includes movies and series on demand, and the recently launched Brisamusic, focused on music content.
