The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and the TV channel Rede Bandeirantes (Band) agreed that, after its first seven fixture dates, the Brazilian women’s football championship will be broadcast on FTA. According to the agreement ran by both entities, First and Second Division matches will be aired on Sundays. Until then, it was only possible to follow the competition’s matches on Twitter and the MyCujoo platform.

Band can broadcast a match for each round of the competition. At first, the channel may choose which  First or Second Division match it may broadcast on Sundays, always at 2 pm (Brazilian time). The 2019’s edition of the championship brings together 16 First Division teams such as Flamengo, Corinthians, Santos, Internacional and Atletico Paranaense, and 36 in the Second one, like São Paulo, Vasco, Palmeiras, Atletico Mineiro, Cruzeiro and Grêmio. In addition, this year’s edition is the first in which CBF makes it compulsory for the 20 male football clubs to set up a women’s team that plays an official competition during the season.

Matches broadcast by Band will feature Alline Calandrini’s comments, Santos, Corinthians and Brazilian National Team former player. The last time a women’s football tournament was aired on TV was in 2017, through the SporTV cable channel.
