Bolivia gets ready for analog blackout’s first step

Bolivian Regulation, Inspection and Transportation Authority (ATT) will carry out the analog blackout in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra cities next November. Gustavo Pozo, Telecommunications Vice Minister, informed that, in a second step, process will continue in 2022 in intermediates and capital cities, and in the rest of the country in 2024.

Pozo reported that currently at least 21 Bolivian broadcasters have already migrated to HD before analog blackout. ‘We have already made progress in transition to DTT. We have 21 national TV networks that had entered this era and they are broadcasting today’, he pointed.

On April 19th, 2017, Supreme Decree No. 3152 was issued, which approves DTT Implementation Plan, and establishes  migration guidelines, procedures and deadlines.
