AzamTV plans expansion to Zimbabwe

Azam TV, owned by the Tanzania-based Bakhresa Group, plans to expand to Zimbabwe. The service is already present in Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Kenya and Rwanda. Its bouquets cover sport, entertainment, news, music and religious channels.

It has to be noted that the new service will broadcast DTH and has been licensed by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ). Transmissions are expected to start by year-end and Azam TV uses Eutelsat’s 7B/7C satellites from 7 degrees East.

According to Azam Media, they expect to also carry certain Zimbabwean channels.
