Days before the launch of Apple TV+, Apple’s new OTT, scheduled for Friday, November 1st, Amazon announced that the Apple TV app was launched on Fire TV devices in more than 60 countries. The announcement took place a few days after the launch of the app on Roku, and having an agreement ran with Samsung to also be available on its 2018 and 2019 smart TVs. Apple is also negotiating with LG, Sony and Vizio to reach its platforms.

The Apple TV app includes access to acquired movies and series on the Apple platform and, as of Friday, it will also be possible to enter Apple TV +, for USD 4.99 monthly subscription, although access to its catalog will be free with the purchase of new Apple devices. In turn, integration with Amazon Fire TV includes voice commands through Alexa, the virtual assistant for Amazon devices.

So far, the Apple TV app is available on Second Generation and 4K Fire TV Sticks in Germany, Canada, Spain, the US, France, India, Italy and the United Kingdom; and on Fire TV Basic Edition in more than 50 countries, including Brazil and Mexico. The app will also be available soon on Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Third Generation, Fire TV Edition smart TVs and Nebula.
