The AnimeFLV streaming platform, which broadcasted free and illegal anime series, announced through a statement that it will be focused on developing a business model ‘that supports the legal anime’.
Several contents offered by AnimeFLV had Crunchyrroll’s rights exclusivity, the paid OTT platform leader in the anime series segment, owned by WarnerMedia. According to the statement, AnimeFLV is committed not to publish any content after the official broadcasts. Apart from that, from next December 31st it will also stop broadcasting series licensed by other platforms.
The AnimeFLV’s reconversion announcement arrives in a contents industry advance process on illegal distribution websites. Recently, AnimeYT and AnimeMovil’s sites closure were announced in Latin America, because of illegal anime series and movies broadcasting. In Brazil, the Anime Visión and Anime’s Central sites were closed, and the Uruguayan Justice ordered to close Pelispedia series and movies website for broadcasting contents in an illegal way.
