The US airline American Airlines started offering from August content from the Apple TV+ OTT on its flights. Passengers can access its catalog for free, and do not have to pay for accessing the platform, nor for internet access. The OTT was officially launched in the US last year for a USD 4.99 monthly subscription and, up to now, the date it will arrive at Latin America has not been announced.
The information was confirmed to the specialized website The Points Guy by a nearby source of the airline. Access to Apple TV + can be made by those who have a device with an internet connection. It is possible to enter its catalog both through the American Airlines application, as well as via web and, in case the plane has a screen on the back of the seats, passengers can access it that way.
Up to now, American Airlines has made eleven Apple TV + series available: ‘The Morning Show’; ‘Defending Jacob’; ‘Dickinson’; ‘For All Mankind’; ‘Ghostwriter’; ‘Helpsters’; ‘Home Before Dark’; ‘Little America’; ‘Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet’; ‘Oprah’s Book Club’ and ‘Snoopy in Space’. The airline already had a video service with a catalog of movies and TV shows. According to The Points Guy, Apple TV + content will change month by month on American Airlines aircrafts.
