Telecommunications company Claro (America Movil) has announced the launch of a new Claro TV’s version in the Peruvian market, which, as reported by the company, brings together FTA TV and pay TV channels, as well as on demand content of series, films, documentaries and exclusive content from the Claro Video OTT, as well as premium channels.
The new offer will be available for Claro Peru’s FTTH clients in Lima, Ancash, Ica, Lambayeque, Moquegua, Piura, Puno, San Martin, Tumbes, Ucayali, Junin, Cajamarca, Arequipa, La Libertad, Huanuco, Ayacucho and Madre de Dios; while the company’s HFC clients will initially be able to access the new offer in Lima, Arequipa and Trujillo (subject to technical and coverage feasibility).
‘Among the main features of this innovation in TV, we can highlight that it removes the duplication of HD and SD channels, always providing the best possible definition. In addition, it allows users to easily hire premium channel packages such as HBO, Star, Golden Premier, Adrenalina Sports Network, HNK and / or premium subscriptions such as Noggin (ViacomCBS), Edye (HITN) Stingray Karaoke and Stingray Qello (Stingray), as well as the possibility of making an upgrade on the plan they have hired’, reported Roberto Bellido, Sub-Director of the Residential Market at Claro Peru.
From the company they reported that the new Claro TV allows making catch-up in the programming broadcast during the last 24 hours, as well as the content aired during the last seven days, and schedule reminders so that customers can watch the content of their choice. In addition, the programming guide has a user interface that allows clients to search for content, being able to filter them according to different categories, or search for channels according to their numbering. It is also possible to record up to 100 hours of content.
Claro Peru’s customers who want to access the new Claro TV must hire the company’s FTTH plans, either the ‘2 Play’ (which includes TV and 50 mbps FTTH internet) or ‘3 Play’ (TV, internet by 100 mbps FTTH and fixed telephony).
Clients with HFC plans will also be able to access the offer, hiring it as an add-on plan for S / 20 (USD 5). For this, HFC customers must hire the ‘2 Play’ plan (TV and HFC 100 mbps wired internet) or ‘3 Play’ (TV, HFC 100 mbps wired internet and fixed telephony).
During its Q1 2021 results report presentation, America Movil had announced the launch of new IPTV plans in Peru, thus continuing to strengthen this offer in Latin America. The company already offers these plans in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic.
