Amazon Prime Video released yesterday the official trailer for ‘El Presidente’, its new original production set in different countries in Latin America, Europe and the US, which will be released globally on Friday June 5th and will focus on the corruption acts made on the ‘FIFA Gate’, in 2015.
‘The series explores the sports event that shocked the world through the story of Sergio Jadue, President of a small Chilean football club, who, from being an unknown man, became a key player in the bribery conspiracy for USD 150 million in hands of the former Argentine Football Association (AFA) President, Julio Grondona’, reported Amazon Prime Video in an official statement, regarding its new original production plot.
‘El Presidente’ will last eight one-hour episodes, and its cast includes several Latin American actors, such as Mexicans Karla Souza and Paulina Gaitán, Colombian Andres Parra, and others. The series is directed by Natalia Beristain, Gabriel Diaz and the Argentine director and screenwriter Armando Bo, winner of the Oscar for the movie ‘Birdman’, who is also one of the executive producers. ‘El Presidente’ is a co-production by Gaumont with its production partners Fabula, a production company led by Chilean filmmakers Pablo and Juan de Dios Larrain, and Kapow, a producer based in Argentina.
