Amazon Prime Video once again expanded its sports content offering by announcing that as of February 23, 2022, it will broadcast live the Copa do Brasil soccer matches, at no additional cost to subscribers. As detailed by the OTT, the agreement includes 30 games of the stage crash and the quarter-final instance that will be broadcast exclusively by the platform; While the last 6, which correspond to the semifinals and the final, will also be available in other media.
“Copa do Brasil 2022 is a milestone for Prime Video, becoming the first live soccer event that the company will broadcast exclusively in the country“, João Ferraz de Mesquita, Country Manager of Prime Video Brasil, announced. “This is a very important step to expand and diversify the content offered to Prime members. We are very happy and excited to offer this broadcast to Brazilian fans”, he added.
Last June, the OTT reached an agreement with Globo, the Brazilian entertainment giant, to include the subscription to its sports channel Premiere in the platform’s offer in the region, which gave its users access to enjoy the Cup. After a new agreement with the Rede Globo company, Amazon Prime Video will now be able to broadcast the competition exclusively from its service, guaranteeing a new experience for its subscribers.
