Amazon plans to add linear and live TV channels to Prime Video

As reported by several specialized websites, Amazon is working on launching linear and live TV channels within its OTT Amazon Prime Video. In Latin America, the platform recently launched Amazon Prime Video Channels in Mexico, which allows access to different platforms and TV channels packages.

As reported by the specialized website Protocol, the website reported that Amazon wants to hire staff for its linear TV team. In this regard, the website asked a source from the company, who indicated that they are looking for agreements to add linear and live TV. Protocol did not mention whether the measure, if materialized, will take place in Latin America.

According to the job offers published by Amazon, its new service will allow its clients ‘to watch live news, music and sports as well as scheduled movies and TV show showings’.
