The telecommunications company Altice Dominicana announced a RD $ 35 billion (USD 662 million) investment in the next five years, in order to continue with the country’s digital transformation.
‘In the Dominican Republic, from 2014 to 2019, we have made a RD$ 35 billion investment on technological infrastructure, which allows us to serve more than four million Dominicans. And we plan to invest a similar number until 2024’, said Ana Figueiredo, CEO at Altice Dominicana.
The company has deployed more than 1,600 LTE antennas and has about 8 thousand FTTH deployed, with which it reaches more than one million homes and businesses. The executive also highlighted the company’s work to improve internet availability in the country, and emphasized that Altice was the first company to deliver 100 megabytes of internet at home, and having launched a 200 megabyte internet plan for homes, apart from being the first to introduce unlimited internet plans to the mobile market.
