A new episode in the telecommunications development in Niger starts with Airtel Niger’s distribution of 4G LTE. Airtel, being the largest network is now the first operator in the country to deploy its 4G network.
The launching ceremony was held last Saturday, June 29 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Niamey in the presence of the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy and several other personalities who have enhanced their presence the image of this ceremony.
Airtel’s Managing Director, Pierre Canton Bacara highlighted the importance of the launch of Airtel’s 4G network, which will be a real growth driver for the Nigerian economy, which is now prepared with a platform ” which will undoubtedly trigger a new phase of accelerated, equitable and inclusive economic growth, thanks to the increase in broadband services.”
With the introduction of 4G, Niger joins the world’s most advanced telecommunication markets.
The 4G network Airtel is offering can attain very high speeds and can stream or watch HD videos, play online, chat faster, download or share videos and photos instantly. For professionals, data transfer, interconnection and work on the mobile will be optimal.
The Honorable Namaro District Chief Mr Elh Hamani Maiga Abdoul Moumouni also confirmed the promise of Bharti Airtel Africa Group to continue investing in Niger and to support the government in the process of digitization of the country.
Outside Niamey, 4G will be available in all the capitals of regions as well as some big cities.
